The I weather was a decided improvement on that of the previous day, although still cold end threatening. Time, lmin 25 4-ssee. Waiohiki Hack Hurdles, one and a half miles.—Donzel (D. Watt) 1, Tina Toa 2, 'Polynicea 3. Ateo started: 801 l in, v>,rral, Euroco, Merrio Valet, Boyne Water, and Fond Memory. Won by four lengths. Time, 3min 5 4-ssec.
Winter Oats Handicap, seven furlongs. —Projectile (H. Gray) 1, San Pluie 2, Humming Bird 3. Also started: Sir Frisco, Amato, Starboard, Seaweed, Separation, and Remissness. Won by a length and a half, two lengths between second and third. Time, lmin 4 l-ssee. Park Steeplechase, about two and a half miles.—Hoanga (Rangi Thompson) 1, Lingerer 2, Rosegrove 3. Also started: Sardonyx. Rosegrove lost his rider and Lingerer enmb down, but both horses were remounted. At the finish Hoana was a length ahead, the same distance between second and third.
