HORRIBLE STATE OF AFFAIRS. By IdtjfVfb.. — Prew AMMbuKoa. Auckland, Yesterday. The report to be presented to the City Council to-night by the municipal inspectors contains some rather sensational particulars of the city's public food .supply. It instances cases of hotels and restaurants where the kitchens are frequently flooded with sewerage, and of butchers' shops where dirty conditions exist and rats and rotten meat abound. Regarding bakehouses, one instance is quoted in which offensive mJittcr had leaked over the tables, and dead rats were found in food boxes.
