At Newcastle the Now Zealand League team defeated the Hunter River district team by 21 points to 20. There was a drizzling rain, but a large attendance. Play was fast and even throughout the fmst half, which ended: Newcastle 12, New Zealand 10. In the second half the visitors turned the tables, scoring 11 point* to the locals' 8; For New Zealand, Siddels, Seagar, Mason, Woodward, and Stanueaway scored tries, Seagar converting two. The annual football match between Christ's College and the Boys' High Sehool was played to-day. and after an exciting and splendid exhibition, the game ended in a draw, each side scoring six points.
