Tho entries at the sheep-breeders' show, which precedes the annual sales, were well maintained, both in number and quality.
Ta6tnanians swept the board in the unhoused merinos' section. New South Wales breeders were most successful in the housed classes.
In the British breeds, Mr. Situdholmc, of Canterbury, took first for his Romney Marsh Tarn, under 18 months of age. J, Douthwaite, of Canterbury, annexed the most prizes. His Border Leicester took first and second in each case for rams over two years, under two years, under 18 months, ewes under two years and under 18 months. Mr. J. Nixon, of Canterbury, secured two'thirds.
In Border Leicesters-, Douthwaite, of New Zealand, was awarded champions for ram under two years and ewe under two years. Nixon and Killinchy secured three thirds in English Leicesters. Nixon took first and champion and second for rams under two years, second and third for rams under two years, second for ram under 18 months, first and champion for ewe under two years, second and third for ewe under two years, and third for ewe under 18 months.
