A deputation informed Mr. Flowers that a meat combine had cornered the slaughtering space at the abattoirs. and although not using it themselves refused to allow other* to use it, thereby hampering trade. Mr. Flowers professod amazement at the statements, and declared emphatically that the department could not tolerate Mich conditions, even if they had to cancel the lease.*. The matter would be remedied in such a manner ns to leave no possibility of its recurrence.
