OVERSEAS VISITORS IN LONDON
AGAIN BAXQUETTED. 3j Cable—Picu Ajtoaiation-—Copyright. London, June 27. The Grocer.* Company gave a banquet to overseas Parliamentarians. Sir John Quick, responding for the Australian representatives, declared that Australians were even more Imperial than Britishers in their aspirations. Australians would like to see an Imperial partnership, with preferential trade within the Empire, with common share of the burdens and responsibilities. Sir George Reid entertained Lord Denman at lunch a-t the Empire Club. Lords Tennyson, Chelmsford, Cowdray, and Pentland, Mr. Hobhouse, Colonel Seely (Under-Secretary for War), Mr. Fisher, and many politicians and Australians were present. Lord Denman, responding to the toast of his health, said he was going out with the advantage of having met in London many with whom he would resume acquaintance in Australia, and was also going at a time of great Australian prosperity. Mr. Fisher, in proposing the health of Sir George Reid and Lady Reid. thanked them for the way in which they had looked after Australian visitors. He assured Lord Denman of a hearty welcome. ENTERTAINED BY COUNTY COUNCIL. , Received 28, 10.45 p.m. London, June 28. The London County Council banquetted the overseas Parliamentarians at the Hotel Cecil.
