I II OK. FOWLDS AT STRATFORD. By Telegraph.—Pr«»g Association. Stratford, Last Xight. 1 The Hon. G. Fowlds, who is visiting Taranaki on departmental business, delivered a political address in the Town Hall to-night at the invitation of the local Liberal League, receiving a good hearing. The Minister dealt with the general policy of the Government, and defended the legislation of the present administration. He decried what he described as "a campaign of wholesale calumny and villification" on the part of the Opposition leaders. Touching on educational matters, the Minister paid a high compliment to the Stratford High School, which he held up as a pattern to district schools of the Dominion. The Minister was accorded a vote oi thanks, and was afterwards entertained at supper by the school committee. ============
