A LEVANTING BANKRUPT.
CLEARS £450 BEFORE LEAVING,

!A meeting of the creditors of John Tipper, a bankrupt, whose, motor garage in Quay street was gutted by tire on March 10, was held yesterday afterj noon. The Assignee stated that Tipper had been adjudged bankrupt on a creditors' petition, and a warrant had been issued for his arrest, but so far had not been executed, the debtor's whereabouts being unknown, A statement prepared by an accountant showed that bankrupt received £351) from an insurance company for goods destroyed by lire, but his claims against the insurance company in respect of several motor cars were not paid. The only assets were a few article-; in the garage and possible rights in two motor cars. The Assignee said he would be glad if lie could get enough to pay the costs of the bankruptcy. He knew debtor drew £450 from the bank the day bclore he left Auckland. The meeting was adjourned sine die.
