At tho annual meeting of Goldsborough, Mort, and Co. the report was read and stated that seasonable raina had assured a good season, and the lambing prospects were encouraging. The board's proposals included a further addition to the share eapital, bringing tho total increase to over £700,000, placing £75,000 additional to tho reserve fund, and devoting £IO,OOO jto tho employees' provident funds. NEW HEBRIDES STAMPS. Sydney, June 24. There is an enormous demand from abroad for the forthcoming issue .of New Hebrides stamps. It is expected there will bo sufficient revenue therefrom to cover the cost of both the British and French administrations without any subsidies. EMIGRANTS FOR AUSTRALIA. Melbourne, June 24. The number of immigrants to Australia last year was 94,543, which was 11,219 abovo the figures for the previous year. Britain supplied 81,457. The recorded arrivals ef Chinese were 1817, whilo tho departure* numbered 2300 men. ISLAND TRADER MURDERED. ■ Sydney, June 24. An Island steamer brings news of the murder by natives of a trader named Alexander Jansen, in South Santo liland. Up to June 21 payments of the Federal land tax totalled £1,3,17,184. Several sums are still to .come in. On Tuesday and Wednesday the Treasury received £1,000,000, which constitutes a record in taxation gathering.
