A PROFESSOR OP AGRICULTURE. By Cable—Press Association—Oopvrieht. Melbourne, June 22. The University Senate has decided to establish a professorship of agriculture. PEARLING CUTTER FOUNDERS. Perth, June 22. The pearling cutter Thistle foundered in Sharks' Bay and two of the Malay crew were drowned. A MINING DISPUTE. Perth, June 22. A ballot of the Boulder and Kal< goorlie branches of the Miners' Union decided not to work with non-unionists. No decisive action has yet been taken. COMMONWEALTH LOANS. Sydney, June 22. The New South Wales Government has arranged to borrow another £1,000,000 from the Commonwealth. The loan will have a currency of twelve months at 3 per cent, interest. The money now loaned by the Commonwealth to the States : totals nearly £4,000,000. THE MEAT TRUST. Sydney, June 22. Sydney business men interested in the meat trade again scout the idea of the reported activity of the American meat trust or that it has any idea of operating in Australia. They declare that the population of Australia is too small to induce the American trust to operate here.
