A STARTLING EXPERIENCE. Auckland, Tuesday. According to the Opotiki correspondent of the Herald, Mr. D. C. Martin, of Tybton, had rather a startling e» perience while on his way home on a recent evening. Ho was driving along the road when suddenly he was "held up" by an unknown man, and forcibly requested to hand over any valuables that he had about him. Fortunately Mr. Martin had no money in his pockets, and the enterprising "highwayman" "borrowed" his coat and decamped. Further developments are expected.
