HOW ARBITRATION CAN AID IT. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Sydney, June 20. Mr. Justice Heydon, delivering judgment in the appeal of the carcase butchers from the award of the Butchering Board, allowed the claim for piecework, frij the course of his judgment. Mr. Justice Heydon said that if they were to make arbitration successful and root it in the confidence of the community it must be dissociated from all connection with manacling the energies, brains and freedom of the managers of industries. "We intend," he said, 'if it is Humanly possible, that all shall get a fair share and that the manhood, independence and comfort of the humblest shall be maintained; but the path to that does not lie through hobbled industry, hampered business, and restraints upon the reproduction of wealth."
