NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The third annual meeting of the New Plymouth Club was held last evening. There was a! large attendance of members. In the absence of the president (Mr. G. Tisch), who is indisposed, the vice-president, Mr. W. N. Bwing, occupied the chair. The president wrote expressing his regret at not -being able to attend, and intimated that owing to ill-health he would be compelled to relinquish theposition of president. The annual report and balance-sheet showed that the institution was in a very flourishing condition. After allowing 10 per cent, for depreciation and meeting all liabilities, there was an excess of assets over liabilities to the value of £386 odd. In moving the adoption of the report and balancesheet the chairman complimented the members on the successful operation*; of the year. The election of officers foV the emsuing term resulted as under:—President, Mr. W. N. Ewing; vice-president, Mr. F. J. Eberlett; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. L. Humphries; horn auditor, Mr. H. Stoelter; committee, Messrs. F. Reston, W. Roberts, A. K. Smart. J. Morey, sen.-, P.' Jury. C. N. Johnston, L. Hill, C. M. Hill; trustee (to fill position occupied by the late Mr. Enroth), Mr. J. McLeod. Resolved that a merit board be secured and the names of the president for each year be placed thereon. The entrance fee for new members was fixed at 10s.

Resolved that the retiring president, Mr. G. risen, he appointed ft life patron of the elub. It was remarked that Mr. Tisch had given a lot of Valuable time to the club, and regret was expressed that he eould not again fill the president's chair. A very heartv vote of thanks was passed" to Mr. Tisch, and the hope expressed thnt ne would soon be in his usual hearty state of health. It was decided that the holding of half-yearly meetings be abolished. Votes of thanks to the retiring officers and the chairman concluded the meeting.
