The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom arc 3,305,000 quarters; for the Continent 2,875,000 quarters; Atlantic shipments 140,000 quarters; Pacific 0000 quarters. The total shipments to Europe amounted to 1,450,000 quarters, including Argentine 194,000 quarters, Russian 705,000 quarters, Danubian 30,000 quarters, Indian 203,000 quarters, and Australasia. 52,000 quarters. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. Following is the High Commissioner's cablegram under date London, June 17: —
Mutton.-—The market is quiet but steady. There is better demand for forward deliveries. Canterbury 4d, North Island, light weight 3%d (scarce), heavy weight 3%d. Lamb.—The market is active, and there is good demand. It is favorably affected by the warm weather. Light weights are in good request. Canterbury, 4%d to o'/id; other than Canterbury 4%d to sd. Beef.—The market is dull, and very little business is doing, but there was ft better feeling at the close of the market.. New Zealand hinds 3%d, fores 2%d.
Butter. —The market is firm. There is improved demand for first-class qualities, which are extremely scarce. Choicest New Zealand butter 108s, Australian 101s, Danish 115s, Siberian 101s.
Cheese—The market is firm, with a hardening tendency. New Zealand 59s fid.
Ilemp.—The market is steady, and fair business is doing. New Zealand good fair on spot per top £22, fair grade £l9 15s, iifair current Manila £l9 10s. forward shipment New Zealand good fair £2l 7s Gd, fair grade £2O, fair current Manila £2O ss. The output from Manila for the week is 27,000 bales.
\Vool.—The wool market is quiet, with no alteration in prices. ' Kauri Gum.—The market is quiet, and small business doing. Dark brown selected re-scraped £7 2s (id, dark brown three-quarter scraped £9 2s fid, dark brown chips drossy 35s to 50s, re-scraped pale amber £ls, pale threequarter scraped £8 ss, diggers' chips (good) 80s Od to 100s. The stock is 289 tons.
Mr. Newton King has received the following cablegram from his Sydney agents re hides: "Lights eighth better."
