A I'OIJT[CAT; ADDRESS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, l-flst, Nignt. Mr. .las. Allen addressed a public meeting at Devonport to-night. The Mayor presided. Mr. Allen spoke very largely on the lines of Ins previous addresses in criticism of the Government, and the explanation of the Opposition platform, lie was accorded a good hearing, and a lieartv vote of thanks.
THE TERRITORIALS. Dunedin, Last Night. The registrations of cadets and territorials in Otago during the week ended June 10 were M, and during last week !J4O. Tile completed returns for Dunedin, Invereargill, Milton and Oamaru districts now give a total of (1220 cadets and 42A6 territorial, or 10.525 in all. On June 2 there were 696 men over 21 years of age who had continued serving in their respective companies. THE kACINO COMMISSION. Wellington, List Night. The Racing Commission met to-day and amended its report to remove certa in features which were not in order. The labors of the commission are now concluded. BANKRUPT DAIRY COMPANY. Timaru, Last Night. At an adjourned meeting in bankruptcy of the Timaru Dairy Company (a partnership concern) the auditors' report stated that the loss of tI.STOf) in 18 month* was caused bv paying 100 much tor Duttcr-fat (an average of 10.8(1) in proportion to the- sale prices (average 10.7(1) and the high expenses of management, and interest of 10 per cent, on capital. Redmond and Donovan, Irish delegates, it was announced that a collection in the town and district totalled £250 as compared with. £77 011 the occasion of the visit four years ago by the Hoinc Rulers.
ROUND THE WORLD PEDESTRIAN. Waiigaiuii; Last Night. Joseph Frank Mikulee, an American of Croatian extraction, who is walking round the world, arrived in Wangamii to-day. He left New York on January Kith, 1911, and after visiting the capital of every State (to prove which he has the seals of each city and letters from Roosevelt and Taft downwards), he sailed from San Francisco to Newcastle. Thence ho walked to Sydney, where he joined the barqnentine Alexa as a seaman. The Alexa arrived this morning. THE STRANDED PELOTAS. Wangamii, Last Night.
