THE CORONATION.

THE PROGRAMME FIXED. ' A meeting of the committee set tip to make arrangements for the New Plymouth celebrations in connection with their Majesties' Coronation was heU last night. There were Messrs. <3. VV. Browne (deputy-Mayor), W. Ambury, J. Paton, 11. Demp»ey, and F. T. Bollringer (town clerk). Apologies were received from the Mayor (Mr. G. Tisch) and Mr. H. Stocker*

It was decided that at the unfurling of the flag at the Recreation Grounds there should be three speakers, x\t.., the Mayor (Mr. G. Tisch), Hon. 0. Samuel, M.L.C., and Mr. H. Okey, M.P. Major Bellringer said that orders ha* beep issued for a parade of territorials on Coronation Day. This .parade, with the feu de joie, march past, adrance in review order, and royal salutes, he proposed should take place immediately before the unfurling of the flag by the Mayoress.

The committee discussed the procedure to be followed in the event of the day proving wet. It was decided that in such case the ministers lie asked to hold religious service in the respective churches, and the unfurling of the flag will be unfurled in Egmont street, the speeches to be delivered from the Kia Ora balcony, if available. The programme was amended as follows:—The procession will form up at the post office at 9.30 a.m., in the order set out: Garrison Band, Veterans, Territorials, Cadets and Boy Scouts, Fire Brigade, Police, Ministers of Churches. Mayor and Councillors, Members af Parliament, Members of Local Bodies, Friendly Societies, Trades and general public.

0.45 a.m.—Procession proceeds to Recreation Grounds near Devon and Liardet streets. 10.15 a.m.—-Military manoeuvres. 11 a.m.—Unfurling of the flag in Recreation Grounds; speeches bv the Mayor, Hon. 0. Samuel, M.L.C., and Mr. H. Okey, M.P. 11.30 a.m.—Religious service. 7 p.m.—Torchlight procession by Fire Brigade.
