THE CORONATION.

ARRANGING FOR SIGHTSEERS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 15, 9.35 p.m. London, June 15. The railway companies are arranging to land a million passengers in inner London before 0.30 on Coronation Day. The newspapers estimate that 150,000 people will occupy the stands, and that there will be millions in the streets. They advise the people to breakfast at 2.30 in the morning and leave their homes an hour later.

AGRICULTURAL HALL SCHEME ADOPTED. An adjourned meeting of the New Plymouth Borough Council last evening, C'r. Browne (Deputy-Ma vor)) presiding in the absence of His Worship the Mayor through illness. A deputation was received from the Agricultural Society, consisting of Messrs. Ambury and Stanley Smith, requesting that the Coronation memorial should take the shape of a large hall suitable for territorials, cadets, and the Agricultural Society's winter show and other public purposes. Mr. Amlmry assured the Council that whether or not the Defence Department would co-operate with the society they were prepared to fro ahead. Several sites were under consideration, and he gave his personal Assurance that a central site would be selected, and he. as representing the society, would arrange for the laying of the foundation stone on Coronation Day. The Council deckled, on the motion of Crs. Ambury and Buttimore, that application be made to the Government for a subsidy of £250 towards the erection of hall as outlined by the deputation. Tn the course of the discussion the Acting-Mayor stated that he had received a message from the Mayor according the agricultural hall project his hearty support, and withdrawing his scheme for a Coronation avenue in its favor. Cr. Browne added that, upon the assurance of Cr. Ambury that this hall would be erected for certain, and in a central position, he would withdraw the Western Park scheme also. Cr. Buttimore. an East End member, saut he had no authority to withdraw the Henui bath scheme, but. he would transfer his personal support to the agricultural hall scheme.
