He says that the local sale of stocks keeps up to an unusual degree, and probably there win be no need to trouble the London market during the present financial year. A question has arisen regarding siiil-ling-a-word cablegrams ,o England, posted from Canada, as to how messages to Canada will be treated. They are at present charged 2s 4d a word, but possibly arrangements will be made for a shilling a word for deferred delivery. THIEVES HOB THE POLICE. Melbourne, June 13. Thieves have been showing grim humor during the past few weeks by systematically victimising the police. The houses of several constables have been entered by burglars, and other officers have had overcoats stolen.
