NOKTH TARAXAKI PLOUGHING ASSOCIATION. (From Our Own Correspondent). A meeting of the committee of the North Taranaki Ploughing Association was held on Saturday, Mr. W. Birdling presiding. The sub-committee appointed for the purpose of drawing up rules and conditions made its report, which was adopted. It was resolved that the prize money be, the same as last year. Mr. Birdling again offered the use of a paddock for the competition, the offer I being accepted with thanks. I An effort was made by telephone to [induce the Hunt Club to postpone the meet at Mr. G. Foreman's on July 27 to August 10, the latter being a bye day, but the Hunt committee coufd not accede to the request. A deputation, consisting of Messrs. Birdling, Luxton and Buchanan, is to meet the club at Bell Block next Thursday, with a View to again making the request, and, in case of their being successful, two jumping competitions for sweepstakes and special prizes will be. added to the programme.
A public meeting takes place in the Clifton Hall to-morrow evening to discuss the question of Coronation celebrations.
