INGLEWOOD NOTES

LADIES' HOCKEY ASSOCIATION. (Frem Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of the Ladies' Hockey Association was Held on Friday evening in Messrs. Malone, Anderson and Johnston's offices. Correspondence was read and dealt with as follows:—From N.Z.D.H. Association re entering a team for the tournament to be held in Wellington in September.—Decided to enter a team from Taranaki.

From the Tikorangi and Waitara clubs applying to be allowed to affiliate to the association.—The secretary's action in entering the teams mentioned was confirmed. From the Taranaki Hockey Association re a seven-a-side tournament at New Plymouth on Coronation Day.—lt was decided that the Ladies' Association agree to allow the Hockey Association tc run the tournament.

The secretary's action in constituting the northern and southern divisions, viz., North: Whakatika, Waitara, Tikorangi, and Inglewood; and South, Elthain, Hawera, and Kaponga A. and 8., was confirmed.

It was decided to postpone all matches set down for Coronation week until the first week after tbe second round fixtures are completed.

It was decided that the Ladies' Association approach the Taranaki Hockey Association re including a relay race for the members of the ladies' teams, distance to be 350 yards, and entrance fee 3s 6d per team.

The hockey dance on Thursday night was a great success, although doubtless the rough weather kept many intendina patrons away. Nevertheless, the hall was nicelr filled for dancing, and an excellent floor made for the, success of the lathering. The music, which was of a hiirh class order, was supplied bv Miss Kennedy and Messrs. Kennedy and Lamb. Mr. Priest was indefatigable as M.-C. During the evening refreshments were handed round.

The Inglewood Cribhagc Club sent a. team to Kaimiro on Thursday evening last and defeated the homo team bv 2il games to 21. Messrs. Mamby and Shoemark obtained the prizes for the highest scorers on the winning side. An excellent supper was provided for the visitors, who speak in high terms of the country club's hospitality. The return match will be played at Inglewood on Thursday night. Mr. McCormack, the golf professional, is at present coaching the members of tbe local club.
