CABLE FROM 'MB. HENRY. Mr. J. H. Henry cabled on Saturday, to the secretary, of the Turaimki Petroleum Company: "Everything points ta successful completion." He also enquired as to the probable date of arrival of Mr. C. Carter, chairman of the company, in England, and was informed byreturn cable that Mr. Carter had connected with the Orontes at Sydney. Mr. Henry also cabled to Messrs. Watkins and Fox that the tone of the London financial circles in regard to oil propositions was becoming more favorable. It was stated on Saturday that No. 5 bore was down to a depth of 1570 ft» This should have read 1870 ft. Everything is going on satisfactorily, at the New Zealand Oilfields Company's bore, where a shallow well is being sunk for the purpose of ascertaining'the indications, and if possible to obtain oi! for fuel purposes. The work of erecting a large plant for a big bore is well in hand. The company has recently landed another boring rig from America.—Gigborne Herald.
