EFFECT AT OROUA. By, Telegraph.—Press Association. Fcilding, Last Night. Sergeant Bowdcn, in his annual report to the Oroua Licensing Bench, stated that with a population of 10,698 in the electorate, there were 44 convictions for drunkenness during the past year, and of these 37 were persons from other centres. No females were arrested for drunkenness or on any other charge. There were no prohibition orders against females. The new licensing legislation preventing persons under 21 being served with liquor had had a most beneficial effect on the whole district, which had a wholesome record.
