A CANADIAN MURDER.
A GUNNER KILLS AX OFFICER. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Ottawa, June 7. Gunner Allen, of the Canadian Garricon Artillery, who was accused of the murder of his commanding officer, Captain Elliston, on August 2, has been found guilty of manslaughter, and sentence has been deferred. Allen was previously found guilty of murder, sentenced to death, and the gallows erected, but the Supreme Court of Canada granted an appeal and ordered a re-hearing of the en?e. The defence was insanity.
