FITZROY BOWLING CLUB.

IMPORTANT PROPOSALS. A meeting of members and guarantors of the Fitzroy Bowling Club was held at the Town Hall on Tuesday night '• when important proposals concerning the " future welfare of the club were considered. Mr. T. G. Sole was voted to the chair, and explained that the meeting had been convened with .the object of discussing proposals for forming the club / into a limited liability company. / Mr. F. Griffiths stated that at the

present time the membership of the club did not exceed 35 or 40, whereas if it were formed into a limited liabiMty company he thought he would be safe in saying that they would have at least 100 shares taken up. Mr. F. Wilson said an idea had got abroad that the guarantors wished to form a company because the bank was going to'call up its guarantee at once. It was, however, an entirely false notion. The present guarantee was a continuing one in the best sense of the word so long as the club kept its account alive and succeeded in reducing its liability little by little each year. The bank was thoroughly satisfied with the security. The guarantors were 'not.attempting to seduce the members into a liability not at present on their shoulders. He dealt at length on the advantages that would follow the formation of a company on the lines suggested, and said the guarantors were so satisfied with the proposition that they were prepared to form a company themselves. Ho also added that this scheme would enable those second guarantors who had been called upon for the amount of their guarantees to be paid back in full, and this would be done out of the first profit* On the motion of Messrs Lealana and Abbott the meeting unanimously opproved of the proposal, the title of the company to be the Fitzroy Bowling Club, Ltd., nnd Messrs Lealend, Abbott, Avery and Whitehead as members of the club, and Messrs Humphries, Cattley, Sole and Wilson, representing the guarantors, were appointed a committee to consider the articles of association, etc. '
