PAYMENT OF GOVERNMENT BONUS. Yesterday the Taranaki Petroleum Company was advised that a sum of £2500 had been lodged to its credit at the Bank of New Zealand by the Go?eminent, being the bonus for the production of 250,000 gallons of crude ipetroleutn. The directors intend to have the draft photographed for reproduction in Uio illustrated papers, thus to bring home to the people that the company hat actually won 250,000 gallons of oil.
