SHORTAGE OF LABOR.

The Government has appointed a Royal Commission to enquire into the alleged shortage of labor in the State; the hours and general conditions of female and juvenile labor in shops and factories; the cause of the decline of the apprenticeship of boys to skilled trades, and the practicability of using technical technical classes as aids or substitutes for apprenticeships.
