A JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT. By Cable—Press Association—Cooyright. Received C, D.30 p.m. Sydney, June C. Mr. W. A. Holman, Minister for Justice, in reply to a question in the Assembly regarding the congestion of the courts, stated to-day that he had appointed Mr. Rich, K.C., acting-judge. He would introduce a short non-contentious Bill to enable the Ministry to appoint more permanent judges. POSSIBILITIES OF TRADE WITH SWEDEN, Received 7, 1 a.m. Sydney, June 0. The Swedish Consul-General says that there arc big possibilities for trade with Sweden in wool and frozen meat. AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS. Received 7, 12.30 a.m. Sydney, June 6. The agricultural statistics for New South Wales show that 3,382,523 acres were cropped last year, an increase of 202,000 over the previous year. In most instances the crops are of a lower averau". The Acting-Federal Treasurer now estimates the land tax will return £1.200, 000. The return was previously cstimat cd at a million.
