PROPOSED HARBOR IMPROVEMENTS By Telegraph. —Press Association. Gisborne, Last Night. Mr. R. W. Holmes, Enginccr-in-Chief, who some time ago was permitted by the Minister of Marine to report on the best means of reducing the danger existing at the mouth of the river at the entrance to this port, haa submitted a lengthy report. He outlines the works that will be necessary, and his recommendations are as follows:—Breakwater extension, £00,000; mole, £40,000; dredging, £50,000; jetty or wharf, inclusive of railway connection, £20,000; contingencies, £17,000; total, £187,000. The scheme, which is to provide accommodation for vessels drawing up to 26ft, will be considered at the next meeting of the Harbor Board. THE WELLINGTON EXHIBITS. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington Exhibition was crowded yesterday, when 0041 persons passed through the turnstiles.
