THE TOFUA FATALITY. By Cable.—Press Assoeiat'nn _rnn"<<*ht Suva, June 3. Hudson, the third officer of the Tofua, was buried here, the funeral being largely attended. Boatswain McMilllan, is progressing favorably. The accident happened on the forecastle when a Manilla hawser parted from the kedge, cutting Hudson's legs off above the ankles. He remained cheerful till he died three hours later. McMillan sustained a core ound fracture of the leg. The Tofua is undamaged. KNOCKED DOWN AND KILLED. Received 5, 12.45 a.m. Sydney, June 4. A Hindoo was knocked down and killed by a motor-car in North Sydney. The motorist is unknown. A TOO AFFECTIONATE BEAR. Received 5, 1 a.m. Adelaide, June 4. A bear at the Zoo Hugged the keeper and had to be shot in order to effect a separation.
