Floods have done enormous damage in Hungary. Fifteen hundred houses at Buda-Pesth are inundated, and the inmates have fled. TRINITY COLLEGE, LONDON. London, June 2. The King has ratified the reorganisation of the Board of Trinity College, Dublin. The governing body will include two junior fellows and two professors elected by the juniors and professors respectively.
METHODIST CENTENARY FUND. London, June 2. | The Primitive Methodist centenary fund has readied £290.000, of which £215,000 has been ear-marked for local use, the remainder for central and colonial purposes. The fund is still open. STRIKE IN HUNGARY. Vienna, June 2. Fifteen thousand sailors and dockers at Fiume have struck for an increase of wages, and a general strike has developed. FIGHTING IN PERSIA. Aden, June 2. Three thousand troops, three batteries and several big guns surrendered at Abha. It is reported that the Grand Stereef of Mecca with a relieving force has been defeated.

The nations were beginning to doubt if war were ever productive of advantage. It is believed that President Taft's initiative will assure a further step towards the consolidation of peaee. DIVORCE IN HIGH LIFE. London, June 2. Admiral Percy Scott has divorced his wife for misconduct with Dr. Phillip Green, of Onslow Square. The suit was undefended. COLONIAL STATESMEN. London, June 2. Messrs McGowen, Holman and Davis are visiting Krupp's works at Essen, then Hamburg and Berlin, to study underground railways tunnelling. They will return on June 11. FRENCH CHURCH ESTATES. Paris, June 2. A Senatorial Committee of Enquiry into the liquidation of church estates is discussing a report 6howing that the forty million francs which the Government predicted fould be available for lay schools was almost dissipated in law costs, owing to congregations appealing on every question until the liquidator found the church insolvent. Possibly a balance of a million and a-half francs will be Baved, which will be required for infirm and aged members of the congregations.
