THE LATE SIR W. S. GILBERT. Received 4, 5.5 p.m. London, June 3. The remains of Sir W. S. Gilbert were cremated and buried at Great Stonmore.
EARTHQUAKE IN BELGIUM. Received 6, 1 a.m. Brussels, June 4. An earthquake cracked many walls and dislodged some chimneys at Gosselies.
BIG CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. Received 5, 1 a.m. New York, June 4. William Hearst, the millionaire newspaper proprietor, is suing Collier's Weekly for £IOO,OOO damages for an alleged editorial slur.
RICH GOLD DISCOVERY. Received 5, 1 a.m. New York. June 4. A rich gold strike is reported from Indian Creek, Koyohnk River, Alaska. Miners are stampeding thither.
