PETROLEUM NEWS

A SHARE TRANSACTION. Ten paid-up £1 shares in the Taranaki Petroleum Company were submitted to auction on Saturday morning, and were sold at 22s 3d to a Hawke's Bay buyer. The Taranaki Petroleum Company is evidently looked upon as a sure buyer for big tanks. The Postal Department recently imported cable in a tank of 31,200 gallons capacity, and is desirous of selling it to the company. Messrs. A. Hatrick, A. S. Burgess, of Wanganui, G. Innes, assistant manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland, and P. Thomson, manager of the bank of New Zealand at Wanganui, were visitors to the oil bores at Moturoa during the week-end.
