At Feilding last week, Mr. Arthur Edgecombe, youngest son of Mr. Charles Edgecombe, of New Plymouth, was married to Miss Elizabeth Stringer, fourth) daughter of Mr. John Stringer, of Feilding. I The Rev. H. A. Favell, of St. Matthew's, Hastings, and late of Stratford, has been nominated by the Board of Nominators to the cure of St. Thomas's parish, Auckland. Mr. Favell has accepted the nomination. The Hon. T. Buddo, Minister of Internal Affairs, arrived in New Plymouth by the express on Saturday, accompanied by his private secretary, Mr. Black. Ho is staying at the White Hart Hotel. Today he opens the new post office at Rahotu, and on Wednesday will open the Taranaki winter show. London Truth states that Bishop Wallis, late of the See of Wellington, New Zealand, has been presented bv the Bishop of Salisbury to the living of St. Peter's and St. Paul's, Marlborough, made vacant by the resignation of Canon Wordsworth, who takes up his residence in Salisbury. Bishop Wallis refused the more valuable living of Pottcrne, near Devizes. Bishop Crossley, of Auckland, arrived in New Plymouth on Saturday. He dined with the vestry of St.' Mary's, and in the evening met the congregation at St. Mary's Hall. On Sunday he visited Waitara for morning service, and in the afternoon conducted a confirmation service at St. Mary's Church, and at night he preached to a large congregation. He leaves by this morning's express for Wellington."
