THE CHURCH AND RECREATION. By Cable—Press Association—Onpyrieht. London, June 1. Lord Darley, at the Rochester Diocesan Conference, proposed the adoption of the Roman Catholic compromise between Sabbatarian and secular views. He urged the Church to countenance recreation and games after morning service. The Dean of Rochester urged that Sunday should be spent in preparing for eternity, of which it was really a foretaste. A resolution was adopted recommending that the spjead of Sunday recreation should receive the consideration of the Church.
