THE HOLIDAY.

KING'S BIRTHDAY, To-day the New Plymouth post and telegraph, football team will meet the Wanganui post and telegraph team at Patea. Our representative footballers will play Wanganui at Wanganui. The holiday will be observed by business people on Monday, but there will he but few holiday attractions. At night there will be the Fire Brigade ball for children in the Theatre Royal, followed by the adults' ball. The ladies' committee, again under the presidency of Mrs. Dockrill, has made splendid arrangements, and quite a multitude of little folks will be present, having been' regularly trained for eome time past. Capital music and supper have been arranged for young and old, and there is no doubt that this is to be a very big function.
