THREE ARRESTS MADE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Thursday. A man named P>adcoek is at present an inmate of the local hospital suffering from serious injuries as the result of an assault alleged, to have been committed at Mataroa. a township on the North Island Main Trunk line, bv three men. It appears .that on Hie 13th of last month there was a disturbance in the township, and Badeock was severely knocked about, in a fight. He w,is able subsequently to make his way to his whare, where was found in a deplorable stale, all his teeth having been knocked out, his jaw broken, and a piece of the jawbone smashed off. Three men have been arrested and remanded for eight days.
