PROPERTY-OWNERS' PROTEST. By Oabl<>—Press Association—Copyright Received 1, 11.25 p.m. London, June 1. The Property-owners' Protection Association has resolved on a vigorous protest against the clause in Mr. LloydGeorge's Insurance Bill forbidding the levying of distress or taking proceedings for ejectment against a person insured, if in receipt of sickness benefit. The speakers complained that the clause would force them to give free lodgings to sick tenants. This, they state, would be certain to encourage malingering. SOCIAL DEMOCRATS DISSATISFIED. Received 1, 11.25 p.m. London, June 1. A manifesto has been issued by the Social Democratic Party declaring that ' the Insurance Bill carefully safeguards the capitalists, and stating that there ought to be no contributions by workmen.
