A NEW LEAGUE.
ITS PLATFORM PROMULGATED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Mr. C. P. Skerrett, K.C., was elected president at a general meeting to-night of the newly-formed Citizens' League. A policy was agreed to as follows:—To closely watch all social movements and progaganda, and keep fully informed thereof; to take all steps within its power to ensure that laws and regulations shall be formulated, executed and administered by moderate and honorable citizens, and to oppose election or appointment of unsuitable persons to any oflice in particular; to oppose any rcduction in the three-fifths majority in connection with national or local option; to oppose any attempt to abolish the sale of liquor altogether; to support all reasonable regulation of liquor traffic; to oppose any further restriction or reasonable gaming by adults; to oppose any restriction on th" enjoyment by individuals of reasonable recreation on Sundays.
