THE CONFIDENCE TRICK. London, May 28. At the New Bailey, a tailor named Thorneeroft, and an engineer named Barney were sentenced to four and two months imprisonment respectively for having worked the confidence trick on Eric Ebery, a Victorian stockman, whom they met on the steamer Orontes.
