AUSTRALIA'S A TTITUDE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, May 29. Mr. Hughes states that Premier's recent statement in London that Australia would accept the principle of Imperial preference in so far as it did not injure herself did not err on the side of rashness or generosity. His (Mr. Murray's) views did noti represent the views of the Federal Government. The extension of preference would have to be carefully considered and the whole thing based on some business lines in a scientific system.
