IRELAND'S DECLINE. ' By Cable —Tress Association —Copyright Received 28, 6.5 p.m. , London, .May 27. The census for Ireland shows the population to be 4,381,956. [The population in 1901 was 4,438,775. In 1841, Ireland's population was 8,175,124.] CANADA'S INCREASE. Received 28, 5.5 p.m. Ottawa, May 27. The census-takers begin their work on Thursday. It is anticipated that the total count will show the population of Canada to be about eight millions. [At the 1901 census, Canada's population was 5,571.315.]
