SUNDAY CONCERTS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 25, 0.1.5 p.m. Sydney, May 25. The Acting-Chief Secretary has issued regulations directing that in future Sunday concerts shall be strictly of a religious nature, no collection to be taken up till the end of the performance.

A fire started in the top floor of Watson's Chambers, Flinders Lane, and spread, gutting the third, fourth and fifth floors, on which were offices of different firm-. The damage done amounts to £20,(W0. There was considerable anxiety for a time, as tile buildings form part of a densely packed area. Received 2(i. 1 a.m. Melbourne, May 25. Firemen were in great danger owing to the falling roofs and ceilings. The incurances include the National Company of New Zealand, with a cover of £2OOO. THE BRiTSRANE CAS STRIKE. Received 25. 0.15 p.m. Brisbane, May 25. The striking ga~ stokers intend to see the Premier. Their places have been filled, chiefly by immigrants. A full supply of ga» is available. BRFAKTXO A RING. Received 2fi, 1.5 a.m. Sydney, May 25. Tt is reported that the independent rabbit packers have succeeded in breaking the ''corner" in cold storage.
