A DESTRUCTIVE HURRICANE.
IN THE NEW HEBRIDES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. 1 Sydney, May 25. Particulars of the recent hurricane in the New Hebrides, when ten vessels went ashore and two whites and six natives were drowned, show that the effects were more devastating than at first reported. The storm was general throughout the group. Hou3Pj were unroofed and blown down at Aneityum and Tanna. It is supposed that several recruiting vessels, besides the ten reported, were blown ashore. The steamer Malatia had a trying experience and lost her deck cargo and fittings.
