A GRATUITOUS INSULT.
To the Editor. Sir, —Your correspondent "Pence and Progress" states in this morning's issue that "any knowledgable man, possessed of imagination and a sense of perspective and values, cannot but regard a soldier or a sailor as an insult to man's intelligence." This is an insult to common sense, and a further insult to every man in the Dominion who has borne arms in his country's defence.—l am, etc., F. Xew Plymouth, May 25.
