Bate-'' man was in danger of being crushed td death, when'the second engineer stopped the engines. Bateman received severe injuries, the nature of which has not been ascertained. .
DEATH FROM EXPOSURE. Thames, Tuesday. A man was found dead on the rood near Thames, and is supposed to be • - half-caste named Walters, 45 years of v age. He died exposure, as the night was an exception* ally cold One, A verdict was returned accordingly. f GORED BY A BULL, Christchurch, Last Night. 1 A man named McCloy was gored by 4 bull at Lower Riccarton this mornuUb The bull rushed from the road into M paddock. McCloy kept the gate open fat it to pass through, but it rushed at hint and injured him severely on the head. j A FATAL ACCIDENT. | Christchurch, Last Night.
