Meantime the company filled the position. Forty men are on strike, and the works are closed. About three days' supply of gas is stored. MR. EDISON'S INVENTION. Sydney, May 23. The Government has reecived a cablegram from Mr. Edison stating that the moulded house invention has not quite readied a commercial stage.
