The Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs wrote enclosing a copy of a notification in respect to the shooting season in the Taranaki district, and also a warrant appointing G. T. Scale a ranger under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, for the district of Taranaki. Messrs. Wilson and Seale reported that they had examined the tannery property and thought the spot suitable for erecting fish hatcheries on. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs. Wilson, Johnstone and Newman was appointed to go into the cost of the necessary buildings, etc., and report to the council at the next meeting. The council decided to take steps to enrol members of the society in accordance with the adopted rules.
