WELLINGTON' SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, Arthur Clifford and St. Clair Isbister were charged with having stolen a heifer worth £2 10s and a mare worth £23. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty on the count respecting the heifer, and failed to agree on the second count, concerning which a fresh trial will take place. William Haining, aged 05, was charged with indecently assaulting a girl aged five. Prisoner said he had /teen drinking for several days, and had not the slightest knowledge or recollection of the affair. A verdict of guilty was returned with a recommendation to mercy on account of age and previous good conduct. Prisoner was remanded for sentence till Saturday. DUNEDIN SESSIONS. Dunedin, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, before Mr. Justice Sim, the hearing of charges of theft from the D.1.C., preferred against Frances Elizabeth Bell, was continued. Accused was found guilty and sentence was deferred. A charge of theft, between March 10, 1910, and March 20, 1911, of articles of the total value of £49 9s 3d, the property of Mrs. Dreaver, was also preferred against accused. This case was unfinished when the court rose. Theodore Frederick Scott was charged with having stolen at Palmerston £7 3s from the dwellinghouse of Harry Louie, a Chinese fruiterer. Accused was found guilty of stealing £2 10s, to the theft of which he had confessed, and the jury strongly recommended him to mercy on account of his youth and owing to the Chinaman having kept the money in a place where the lad had knowledge of it, this constituting temptation. Sentence was deferred.

DIVORCE COURT. Auckland, Thursday. In the Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Edwards granted decrees nisi in the following divorce cases:—Louisa Carr v. John Tiiomas Carr, on the ground of desertion; Robert Ballantine v. Harriet Ballintine, desertion; Mary Milliken Finlayson v. John McLean Fi'nlayson, desertion ; Frederick George Brunlin v. Jessie Brunlin, desertion and misconduct; Edith Jane Hankins v. Henry Arthur Hankins, misconduct and neglect; Michael Davern v. Margaret Davern, misconduct with Hankins. the defendant in the previous ease; Catherine Since v. George Since, failure to provide; Charles Hine Fisher v. Charlotte Fisher, misconduct with Ernest Osman.
