THE CAMORRA TRIAL.
A PASSIONATE APPEAL. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright Rome, May 17. A sensation was caused at the Vitcrbo trial by Abattcmaggio suddenly declaring that neither Ibello, nor Ciro, Erricone's brother, who died in prison, was connected with the organisation which was responsible for the Cuocolo murders. The declaration led to a storm of comment among counsel, and Erricone passionately appealed for justice for his dead brother's memory.
A VIOLENT SPEECH. Received 18, 9.20 p.m. Rome, May 18. , Erricone concluded his evidence by kneeling on the marble altar steps before the Bench, beseeching the Crown Prosecutor to quash the indictment and condemn Abbatemaggio. "If his ■ -Sion of my traitorship is true, inst 1 of giving him 400 francs hush money, I would plunge a dagger three hundred times into Abbatemaggio's vile carrion flesh."
