MILITARY COURT-MARTIALS
CASES OF EX-CAPTAIN KNYVETT AND C. T. MILLS. SENTENCES CONFIRMED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. It is understood that the finding of the court-martial in the Knyvett case has reached the Acting-Minister for Defence (Hon. Geo. Fowlds), but it is yet to be placed in the hands of the Governor before the details are made public. It is believed, however, that the court found ex-Captain Knyvett guilty, and confirmed the sentence of dismissal in connection with the.Knyvett case, and the recent similar one in Tnranaki of ex-Captain Mills. It is understood that the general officer commanding the New Zealand forces (Major-General Godley), considering the previous excellent records of these officers, will be prepared to recommend favorable consideration to applications by either or both of them to be posted on the reserve of officers, provided that such applications are accompanied by ample apology or hnv retraction of the letters written or instigated by them.
